Two of the world’s most prominent tech billionaires, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, have agreed to fight each other offline. In a viral exchange seen on Twitter and Instagram, the two moguls seemingly agreed to a “cage match” face off.

The saga began when Musk posted a message on Twitter expressing his willingness to engage in a “cage fight” with Zuckerberg. Shortly after, Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook and Instagram, shared a screenshot of Musk’s tweet with the caption, “Send me location.”

In response, Musk referred to the UFC headquarters in Nevada, suggesting the Vegas Octagon as the venue for the fight.

Where the two stand

Zuckerberg reportedly weighs about 154 pounds. He has a background in mixed martial arts and jiu-jitsu, and he has displayed his skills through videos shared on social media.

Musk, who is believed to weigh around 187 pounds, has said he trained in taekwondo and judo as a kid. On one occasion, Musk even shared a photo of himself squaring off against a sumo wrestler.

Fightbook MMA and other websites currently place Zuckerberg at an 83.3% chance at emerging victorious in the hypothetical fight.

However, it should be noted that the legitimacy of the proposed fight is unclear given that Musk has a history of making statements that are not serious.

“The story speaks for itself,” a Meta spokesperson said when asked if the fight would happen.

Rival platforms

Beyond the spectacle, there is an escalating rivalry between the two tech giants. Zuckerberg’s Meta reportedly plans to launch a new social media platform aimed at competing with Twitter.

The release could happen within a few weeks, sources say.

Leaked photos indicate that the new platform may feature a threaded layout, allowing users to share quick text updates — a familiar concept for Twitter users.

Currently, Meta boasts a combined user base of around 3.8 billion users, while Twitter is reportedly estimated to have a significantly smaller 300 million active users.
