The results highlight a stark divide along party lines. Among Republicans, 86% support mass deportation, followed by 58% of independents and 25% of Democrats. When asked about leadership on immigration, 44% of respondents believe former President Donald Trump would handle the issue better, compared to 34% who favor Vice President Kamala Harris.
While Vice President Harris’ campaign is promoting new ads promising to hire thousands of new border agents, the survey suggests she may need to take additional steps to sway voters on this issue.
A NEW POLL REVEALS THAT MORE THAN HALF OF AMERICANS SUPPORT MASS DEPORTATION OF UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS.
THE SURVEY CONDUCTED BY IPSOS SHOWS THAT 54-PERCENT OF RESPONDENTS ‘STRONGLY’ OR ‘SOMEWHAT’ SUPPORT THE WIDE EFFORT TO DEPORT MILLIONS OF IMMIGRANTS.
THIS INCLUDES 86-PERCENT OF REPUBLICANS… 58-PERCENT OF INDEPENDENTS… AND EVEN 25-PERCENT OF DEMOCRATS. ADDITIONALLY… 39-PERCENT OF RESPONDENTS SAY IMMIGRATION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE FOR THEM THIS ELECTION… WITH INFLATION AT NUMBER ONE. AND 44-PERCENT SAY THEY FEEL FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP WOULD DO A BETTER JOB ON THIS ISSUE THAN VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS AT 34-PERCENT.
THIS DATA COMES AT A TIME WHEN IMMIGRATION IS ONE OF THE MOST DISCUSSED ISSUES IN THE 2024 ELECTION. AND WHILE THE HARRIS CAMPAIGN IS SHOWING NEW ADS PROMISING THOUSANDS OF NEW BORDER AGENTS WILL BE HIRED UNDER HER ADMINISTRATION… THIS SURVEY SHOWS SHE MAY HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO TO CONVINCE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
