You may not be able to dunk or even play like Michael Jordan… but for 230-thousand dollars a month – you can live like him.
The new owner of the former Chicago Bulls star’s mansion is now offering the 37-thousand square foot property in Highland Park Illinois up for rent, calling it ‘Championship Point.’ Jordan sold the property for 14.9 million dollars after twelve years on the market. It was originally listed for 29-million dollars when it first went up for sale in 2012, before dropping to 16-million a year later.
Renters can certainly get a taste of the high life. The listing notes that the house sits on 7.39 acres of land and includes 9 bedrooms, 15 and a half bathrooms, an exercise room, library, theater, and full basement.
And of course, there’s a full sized basketball court fit for a champion. Other amenities include a tennis court, pool, championship level green, wine cellar, and cigar room.
For the car lovers? A heated garage with space for 14 vehicles.
In January, the home was being offered up for one week stays, and the property owner was offering shares of the property for 1-million dollars. That option is still listed on the property’s website, along with encouragement for co-owners to host intimate gatherings for major events.
But luxury living comes at a cost – beyond just rent. Records show annual property taxes for the estate topped 137-thousand dollars in 2023. That’s down from a high of nearly 190-thousand dollars in 2014.
So while the house comes with a legendary legacy – living like a champion doesn’t come cheap.
