Locals are baffled by the sudden appearance of a towering steel monolith, nearly the size of a semi-truck, discovered atop a hill in Wales. The structure, resembling something out of science fiction, was stumbled upon by a jogger, who described it as “bizarre” and “definitely stainless steel.”

Eyewitnesses initially mistook the monolith for a UFO, igniting theories ranging from an avant-garde art installation to extraterrestrial intervention. Descriptions of the monolith are only amplifying the intrigue surrounding its origins.

This isn’t the first time such an anomaly has appeared. Similar monoliths emerged across the U.K. and globally in 2020, drawing comparisons to the iconic monolith from the 1968 film “2001: A Space Odyssey.”

As speculation mounts, the purpose and origin of this latest addition to Wales remain shrouded in mystery. The monolith is situated within Brecon Beacons National Park, and authorities warn that unauthorized installations may be removed if proper permissions aren’t obtained.

A MYSTERIOUS STEEL MONOLITH HAS APPEARED SEEMINGLY OUT OF NOWHERE – LEAVING LOCALS SCRATCHING THEIR HEADS.

THE TOWERING STRUCTURE, NEARLY THE SIZE OF A SEMI-TRUCK, WAS DISCOVERED BY A WITNESS WHO STUMBLED UPON IT WHILE OUT FOR A RUN – ON A HILL IN HAY-ON-WYE – AND DESCRIBED IT AS “BIZARRE” AND “DEFINITELY STAINLESS STEEL.”

ANOTHER WITNESS SAID HE INITIALLY MISTOOK IT FOR A UFO – SUGGESTING IT MIGHT BE AN ART INSTALLATION OR EVEN OF EXTRATERRESTRIAL ORIGIN – DESCRIBING IT AS BEING MADE OF SURGICAL STEEL WITH IMPECCABLE CRAFTSMANSHIP – HIGHLIGHTING THE INTRIGUE SURROUNDING ITS SUDDEN APPEARANCE.

THIS ISN’T THE FIRST TIME SUCH A MONOLITH HAS MYSTIFIED THE WORLD. SIMILAR STRUCTURES EMERGED IN THE U.K. AND GLOBALLY IN 2020, DRAWING COMPARISONS TO THE ICONIC MONOLITH FROM THE 1968 MOVIE: “2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY.”
