One investigation was conducted by an external law firm, while the other was an internal review.

In a statement, New York Magazine acknowledged that while Nuzzi’s reporting was found to be sound, her actions created the appearance of a conflict of interest, violating the newsroom’s standards of integrity and respect.

The magazine described the decision to part ways as mutual. Nuzzi’s lawyer issued a comment, stating she was “gratified, though not surprised” by the findings of the investigations, which confirmed that she had done nothing wrong.

Meanwhile, her ex-fiancé, Ryan Lizza, remains on leave from Politico. There is no indication of when he might return, with reports suggesting it will not be before the upcoming election

JOURNALIST OLIVIA NUZZI IS NOW OUT OF A JOB FOLLOWING A CONTROVERSY INVOLVING HER ALLEGED RELATIONSHIP WITH ROBERT F. KENNEDY JR.

NUZZI, A FORMER POLITICAL REPORTER FOR NEW YORK MAGAZINE, HAD BEEN PLACED ON LEAVE AFTER REVEALING SHE HAD STARTED A ‘NONPHYSICAL’ RELATIONSHIP WITH RFK JR., FOLLOWING HER COVERAGE OF HIM FOR THE MAGAZINE.

ACCORDING TO POLITICO, WHICH NUZZI’S EX-FIANCÉ IS ALSO ASSOCIATED AND CURRENTLY ON LEAVE, NEW YORK MAGAZINE OFFICIALLY PARTED WAYS WITH NUZZI EARLIER THIS WEEK, DESPITE TWO SEPARATE INVESTIGATIONS CLEARING HER OF ANY BIAS OR INACCURACIES IN HER REPORTING ON THE 2024 ELECTION.

ONE OF THESE INVESTIGATIONS WAS CONDUCTED BY AN EXTERNAL LAW FIRM, WHILE THE OTHER WAS AN INTERNAL REVIEW.

IN A STATEMENT, NEW YORK MAGAZINE SAID THAT, ALTHOUGH NUZZI’S REPORTING WAS FOUND TO BE SOUND, HER ACTIONS CREATED THE APPEARANCE OF A CONFLICT OF INTEREST, VIOLATING THE NEWSROOM’S STANDARDS OF INTEGRITY AND RESPECT.

THE DECISION TO PART WAYS, THEY SAY, WAS MUTUAL.

NUZZI’S LAWYER COMMENTED, SAYING SHE IS ‘GRATIFIED, THOUGH NOT SURPRISED’ BY THE FINDINGS OF THE INVESTIGATIONS, WHICH CONFIRMED SHE HAD DONE NOTHING WRONG.

MEANWHILE, HER EX-FIANCÉ, RYAN LIZZA, REMAINS ON LEAVE FROM POLITICO, AND THERE’S NO WORD YET ON WHEN HE MIGHT RETURN, WITH REPORTS SUGGESTING IT WON’T BE BEFORE THE UPCOMING ELECTION.
