Republicans released the platform for their 2024 campaign to retake the White House and Senate and retain control of the House of Representatives.
The document includes a 20 point plan which covers a range of priorities including immigration, the economy, military and other social issues.
They say their top priority is to seal the border and stop what they describe as a migrant invasion. They also call for the largest deportation operation in American history. Their other points state: end inflation, large tax cuts for workers prevent world war three, keep men out of women’s sports and deport pro-Hamas radicals.
Republicans in large part say they support the platform.
Kevin Marino Cabrera, RNC platform committee member:
“I think we have a unified party behind President Trump who’s our nominee. Our platform reflects his views.”

But what’s not included is getting some of the most attention. Republicans are not explicitly calling for a nationwide abortion ban.
Instead the document states: “We will oppose Late Term Abortion, while supporting mothers and policies that advance Prenatal Care, access to Birth Control, and IVF (fertility treatments).”
It says the states are free to pass laws protecting those rights. That led to public condemnation from pro-life Republicans, including former Vice President Mike Pence who said in a statement:
“The RNC platform is a profound disappointment to the millions of pro-life Republicans that have always looked to the Republican Party to stand for life. Now is not the time to surrender any ground in the fight for the right to life.”
The platform was approved in an 84-14 vote and some who opposed spoke out about the process.
Gail Ruzicka, RNC platform committee member:
“They didn’t allow any amendments. They didn’t allow any discussion. They rolled us. That’s what they did.”

But not all pro-life groups are opposed to the platform.
[MARJORIE DANNENFELSER]
“The Republican Party remains strongly pro-life at the national level. The mission of the pro-life movement, for the next six months, must be to defeat the Biden-Harris extreme abortion agenda.”
