Stunning images and videos of storm damage in aftermath of Hurricane Ian
Hurricane ian has been downgraded to a tropical storm.
But not before devastating winds and floods devoured southwest florida.
A place known for beautiful beach getaways…
Can’t even be recognized…As record-breaking storm surges paved a path through the sunshine state.
Streets are no longer visible…
And likely will remain for days until water is able to recede.
Muddied flood waters rushed the roads…
Enough force behind it to move flooded cars in its current.
The wind too…Creating a major force of power.
Wind gusts here recorded near 150 miles per hour knocking down stop signs, slinging debris…And unbearable for a person to withstand.
Despite warnings to evacuate or stay indoors…
Several water rescues have already been underway.
A local fire department busting a car back window to save a woman stranded in her vehicle.
As the fireman wades through water that is chest-deep.
The threat for residents is far from over even as the storm crosses back into the atlantic.
Dangerous downed power lines trace the roadways.
More than two million residents are without power.
Though florida took the brunt of the storm…
Tropical storm ian is still packing powerful windspeeds, downpouring rains, and is widespread.
The threat now moves toward georgia and the carolinas with expected landfall on friday.
