Share

Facebook announced a new app called Horizons Workrooms, or as some are calling it, a ‘Facebook Metaverse.’ While wearing an Oculus 2 headset, users can work remotely in a team environment by hosting virtual conference rooms as their personalized avatars. In addition, the app features the ability to work on shared documents or whiteboards with peers.

TAYLOR KNIGHT:

ZUCKERBERG DOES IT AGAIN.

FACEBOOK LEVELS UP WITH  –THE METAVERSE.

ALL KIDDING ASIDE, THIS VIRTUAL REALITY APP IS IMPRESSIVE.

A PERSON CAN WORK REMOTELY AS AN AVATAR – NOT MISSING A BEAT FROM THE IN-OFFICE EXPERIENCE.

USERS NEED THE OCULUS QUEST TWO HEADSETS TO TAKE PART.

THEY CAN MEET IN VIRTUAL CONFERENCE ROOMS AND WORK ON SHARED PROJECTS.

THE AVATAR EVEN HAS A REALITY DESK WITH FULL FEATURES.

THE APP IS  FREE – BUT YOU NEED TO BUY THE HEADSET, WHICH CAN COST AS LOW AS THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS EACH.

IT CAN HOST SIXTEEN AVATARS AND UP TO 50 PEOPLE, INCLUDING VIDEO CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS.

FACEBOOK IS HEAVILY INVESTED IN VIRTUAL REALITY – DEVELOPING A DEEPER EXPERIENCE THAT WILL ALLOW THE USER TO TAKE A VIRTUAL VACATION IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES OR EVEN -MARS.

SO THREE DOLLARS FOR A HEADSET IS A MUCH CHEAPER PRICE THAN A FLIGHT TO PARIS!

WOULD YOU BUY ONE OF THESE HEADSETS TO GET THAT VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE?
