CBS News argues that the First Amendment protects their editorial decisions, noting Trump lacks legal grounds to sue.

CBS maintains that providing the unedited interview transcript would set a precedent allowing politicians to intimidate news organizations.

This is the second time the former president and the show have been at odds. In 2020, Trump cut an interview short with journalist Lesley Stahl.
