Daniel Penny receives prestigious award from Marine Corps League at Iwo Jima event

Daniel Penny received the Semper Fidelis achievement award from the Marine Corps League during an Iwo Jima Day event in Boston on Feb. 19. The agency recognized Penny for his actions in defending subway passengers from Jordan Neely, whom he placed in a chokehold.

Penny was acquitted of criminally negligent homicide after a jury deadlocked on manslaughter charges last year.

The 26-year-old is now employed at Andreessen Horowitz in NYC as a deal partner, focusing on government and defense tech investments.
