Democrats Propose ‘Shadow Government’ To Oppose Trump’s Cabinet

North Carolina Democratic Rep. Wiley Nickel proposed creating a Democratic ‘shadow cabinet’ to oppose the incoming Trump administration’s policies. Nickel described this strategy as not just opposing MAGA attacks but also clarifying Democratic values.

Nickel said U.S. House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., could appoint Democratic members of Congress to hold Trump’s cabinet members accountable.
