Global rights group finds Hamas-led militants committed war crimes on Oct. 7

A report from July 17 by the global rights group Human Rights Watch (HRW) found that groups of Hamas-led militants committed several war crimes during the southern Israel attack on Oct. 7.

According to Human Rights Watch, the Palestinian fighters’ actions did qualify as crimes against humanity and war crimes. Five of the Palestinian armed groups were led by Hamas’ Qassam Brigades. Human Rights Watch said the groups were responsible for said war crimes and violating international law.

Hamas is rejecting the report and calling on Human Rights Watch to withdraw its report and apologize.
