Governor, others condemn torture and murder of Sam Nordquist: ‘Horrific, sickening’

Five individuals face murder charges for the killing of Sam Nordquist, a 24-year-old transgender man from Minnesota, after he was reported missing on Feb. 9, 2025. Authorities discovered Nordquist’s remains on Feb. 13, stating he endured prolonged violence and torture before his death.

Rochester LGBTQ+ Together expressed anger over the case, highlighting a broader epidemic of violence against transgender individuals in the U.S.

New York State Police stated that the circumstances of Nordquist’s murder were deeply disturbing, labeling it one of the most horrific crimes they had seen.
