Half of Americans see Donald Trump as a fascist: ABC News/Ipsos poll

Forty-nine percent of registered voters in a national survey view Donald Trump as a fascist, defined as a “political extremist who seeks to act as a dictator…” Perceptions of Trump as a fascist vary significantly by political affiliation; 87% of Democrats versus 12% of Republicans hold this view.

John Kelly, a retired general and former Trump chief of staff, stated that Trump “certainly falls into the general definition of fascist, for sure.

The poll also showed that 22% see Harris as a fascist by the same definition.
