Johnson warns of arrests over Netanyahu speech disruptions

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., announced a “zero-tolerance policy” for disruptions during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s visit, warning of potential arrests. Johnson reminded lawmakers that any disruption violates House rules and may lead to prosecution. In his warning, Johnson said the Sergeant at Arms and Capitol Police will remove any offenders from the gallery if disturbances occur. Netanyahu is scheduled to speak in front of Congress on Wednesday, July 24. Capitol Police officials said there are extra officers at the Capitol building in preparation for potential protests.
