New footage shows Nancy Pelosi saying ‘I take responsibility’ for Jan. 6 security failures

New footage from January 6, 2021, released by the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, showed then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., saying that she bears responsibility for not stopping the actions of the mob that day. In the video, Pelosi questioned the lack of preparation and anticipation in handling the Capitol breach incident and acknowledged the need for better preparation and takes responsibility for not having the situation adequately handled.

“We have responsibility, Terri,” Pelosi said in footage, referencing her Chief of Staff Terri McCullough.

“We did not have any accountability for what was going on there, and we should have,” she added.
