Pennsylvania Republican in key swing-state Senate race backs using military to fight fentanyl

The Republican challenger in Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate race wants military action in Mexico to combat fentanyl trafficking, a controversial idea linked to former President Donald Trump.
David McCormick, who is running against three-term Sen. Bob Casey, D-Penn., proposed using military drones and special operations in Mexico to target fentanyl cartels. He said those tools should be used selectively to target drug cartels.
McCormick argued military action is warranted due to fentanyl’s deadly impact, stating the U.S. should act without waiting for cooperation from the Mexican government.
