Student loans, Title IX: What education policies might come out of a Trump administration

Trump has proposed eliminating the Department of Education, which “establishes policy for, administers and coordinates most federal assistance to education.” He aims for states, not the federal government, to control schools, while dismantling diversity initiatives and cutting funding for certain educational content.
Trump also plans to create a new teacher credentialing body and reinstate the 1776 Commission to align history teaching with specific “values” without further definition. Trump wants to create education reforms with his momentum, but there are some experts who say the reforms are easier said than done.
