Trump officials tell GOP lawmakers they need $175B to secure borders

The Trump administration is requesting $175 billion from Senate Republicans to enhance border security and immigration enforcement, as stated by Senate Budget Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham. During a meeting, Tom Homan and Russ Vought explained that the funds would be used for new ICE agents, detention beds, and completing the border wall.

Vought highlighted the urgency, saying, “We’re running out of money for ICE. We can’t rob other accounts any longer.”

The funding request is part of a broader budget plan that includes $150 billion for military spending and aims to address Biden-era immigration policies.
