Washington Post expected to lay off dozens of staffers in coming week: Report

The Washington Post will reportedly lay off dozens of its staffers in the next few days, according to a report by Oliver Darcy of the Status newsletter. The layoffs are expected to impact “many dozens” of employees in the business division, with an announcement possibly coming this week.
Ann Telnaes, a Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist, resigned in protest over the newspaper’s decision not to publish a cartoon about Jeff Bezos and other billionaires. The potential layoffs follow a series of staff reductions and cancellations from as many as 250,000 subscribers due to the newspaper’s financial woes.
