White House demands apology from Dem leader Jeffries for vowing to fight GOP agenda ‘in the streets’

The White House demands an apology from House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., for urging people to fight the GOP agenda “in the streets.” Republicans accuse Jeffries of using inflammatory language, calling for an immediate apology.

Jeffries’ office said in a statement that the claims the notion of supporting violence is “laughable” and emphasizes nonviolent protest. Democrats focus on fighting against what they describe as an extreme Republican agenda affecting everyday Americans. Jeffries also denounced the now-removed federal funding block by the president.
