Biden’s southern border flex is all talk, no teeth

On Feb. 7, Senate Republicans blocked a bipartisan border bill that had been under negotiation for months with Democrats and the Biden administration. With prospects for passing border security legislation now seeming dim, President Biden is pointing fingers at former President Trump, who opposes the bill, and urging Republicans to “show some spine.”

Straight Arrow News contributor Star Parker argues that the Biden administration is not truly serious about tighter controls at the border. She claims that Americans are growing weary of the president consistently placing blame for the lack of immigration legislation on Republicans.

The consequences of the Biden administration’s shirking their responsibility are all too familiar to most Americans by now. We’re feeling it. Communities along the border strain to provide resources. Local schools in border states see increased enrollment without any corresponding increases in revenues not to mention the language barriers. Unaccompanied minors are tragically being trafficked through the country. Fentanyl deaths are continuing to rob families of their loved ones.

It’s important to note that this is not just a problem of the borders anymore. This is now national. Many liberal cities that virtue signaled by proclaiming themselves to be sanctuary cities have since declared a state of emergency over the border crisis, including cities like Denver, Chicago, New York. It’s everywhere.

While Congress continues to debate. They’re trying to find solid solutions, and yet states and communities will continue to do everything they can to stay afloat, while we here in Washington are in a standstill because of the Biden administration.

But it is past the point of being even remotely sustainable for these states and these communities. And everyone is concerned. Americans everywhere will have to keep the real evidence in front of them, not the rhetoric, especially over the coming months, about what happened here in Washington for the border bill — the collapse.

Keep in mind the real truth when you go and visit the voting booth later this year.

The situation at our southern border continues to get more dire with each passing day. US Customs and Border Protection reports that migrant encounters reached a staggering 302,000 in December 2023. That’s the highest month total, ever. securing our border is a federal responsibility but the Biden administration is failing to uphold that obligation. And as a result, states and communities are suffering serious consequences. When states try to do something the Biden administration actually steps in to stop them. The administration sued the state of Texas in the federal courts so that it could cut razor wire that was put there by the Texas officials. In a recent press conference, White House National Security Council Spokesman John Kirby actually claimed that this was done to make it easier for Border Patrol to do their jobs. Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy interject lightweight what it remind Kirby that the Border Patrol union president said this action will undoubtedly increase illegal immigration. Does he then asked him, Do you guys know better than the Border Patrol Union? This development perfectly showcases the mentality of the Biden administration’s towards the border. It’s all show and rhetoric. It’s why it’s stalled now in Washington, DC because the Biden administration is not serious. Biden sought to absolve himself of responsibility recently, when he said, I’ve done all I can do just give me the power seriously. You’re engaging in political gamesmanship by trying to shift the blame of the crisis to Republicans in the Congress, who are the ones that keep pointing to the problem, and many Americans are grown weary of this cynical tactic. none more so than the Border Patrol council president not wanting to mince words, he declared that Biden is not doing everything in his power, not even close. He said in quotes. I’m very sick of hearing all of his rhetoric. He doesn’t give evidence. Secretary Mayorkas is complicit in allowing these individuals to violate our laws. On quote, the consequences of the Biden administration’s chirping their responsibility are all too familiar to most Americans. By now.
