Last week, President Biden made a trip to the southern border and once again blamed Republicans in Congress for the problem he created on the first day of his presidency.
Biden immediately stopped construction of a border wall and ended the “Remain in Mexico” policy for migrants who made asylum claims. Instead, he has released millions of migrants into the United States, and many have been enrolled in government benefit programs. This has created a magnet for even more migrants to make the dangerous trip from Venezuela, Honduras, El Salvador and many other countries.
Drug cartels have been enriched by trafficking thousands of human beings and deadly fentanyl has been smuggled across the border, killing more than 100,000 Americans.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has sought to secure the border in his state, but the Biden administration has thwarted him at every turn. Every turn he makes, the Biden administration is taking him to court or turning things around another way. In order to alleviate the strain on border communities in Texas, Governor Abbott has sent thousands of migrants to sanctuary cities like New York, Chicago and Denver.
Well, they said they were sanctuary cities, so now they have the migrants.
People in these cities are starting to rebel as migrants are being housed in schools and public parks. Homeless veterans are being evicted from hotels and shelters to make room for the migrants.
The City of Denver is considering reductions in hours or eliminating positions for lifeguards and other Parks and Recreation employees, so that funds can be shifted to housing and services for the migrants. This is crazy, moving in wrong direction. This will cause a reduction in hours of operation and programs in the city’s parks and recreational facilities.
The brutal murder of a nursing student in Georgia has prompted New York’s Mayor to call for the city’s sanctuary law to be changed. Kind of woke up a little bit.
The illegal migrant charged with murdering the nursing student was previously charged with committing serious crimes in New York City but was released before federal immigration officials could detain him. Biden’s immigration policy allowed the suspect to be paroled into the United States in 2022 after crossing illegally in Texas.
Echoing Biden’s argument, the Mayor of Denver is blaming congressional Republicans for not providing more funds to process migrants who continue to stream across the border. Biden should stop the theatrics and blame shifting, and fix the border problem he created. The mayors should also stop grandstanding and eliminate the sanctuary city policies that are so harmful to the people in their distressed communities – and to communities all across America.

Biden blames GOP for his own border crisis
Mar 8
By Straight Arrow News
U.S.-Mexico border security and broader immigration concerns remain key priorities for many Americans following the failure of a bipartisan border reform bill to advance through Congress. Legislators and President Biden blamed the MAGA camp for sabotaging that bill in its final stages, accusing Trump of deliberately sinking the bill so that he could campaign on a tougher border stance in the upcoming elections.
Straight Arrow News contributor Star Parker rejects that assessment and insists that President Biden is to blame, saying that his administration has failed since day one when it comes to border security and immigration. Parker indicates that today’s crisis is a result of several years of bad policy and notes that even liberal sanctuary cities are now speaking out against immigration.
