ACTOR KEANU REEVES TAKING HIS ACTION SKILLS TO THE RACETRACK.
THIS WEEKEND THE HOLLYWOOD ICON MADE HIS PROFESSIONAL AUTO RACING DEBUT AT THE LEGENDARY INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY.
BUT IT WASN’T ALL SMOOTH SAILING.
DURING SATURDAY’S 45-MINUTE RACE, REEVES SPUN OUT ON TURN NINE, SLIDING INTO THE GRASS.
LUCKILY, THERE WAS NO COLLISION, AND HE QUICKLY RE-ENTERED THE RACE.
STARTING 31ST OUT OF 35 CARS, REEVES MADE A STRONG PUSH, CLIMBING AS HIGH AS 21ST WHILE SKILLFULLY AVOIDING A CRASH IN TURN 14 ON THE FIRST LAP.
HE ULTIMATELY FINISHED IN 25TH PLACE.
AT 60 YEARS OLD, REEVES IS COMPETING IN THE TOYOTA GR CUP.
HE’S ALSO PROMOTING HIS GRAPHIC NOVEL, “THE BOOK OF ELSEWHERE.”
THIS ISN’T REEVES’ FIRST TIME RACING.
HE PREVIOUSLY TOOK PART IN A CELEBRITY RACE IN 2009, WHERE HE WON.
AND IF THAT’S NOT ENOUGH EXCITEMENT FOR THE MATRIX STAR, HE’S HEADING TO LOS ANGELES TO REUNITE WITH CO-STAR SANDRA BULLOCK FOR A SPECIAL 30TH ANNIVERSARY SCREENING OF ‘SPEED.’
