Cruise company offers Americans upset with Trump’s reelection a way out

Share

Some individuals have threatened to leave the United States over the result of the 2024 presidential election. Now, a cruise company is offering voters opposed to a second term from President-elect Donald Trump to have a real option to get away, that’s if they’re willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars.

The company says it is a “global adventure of up to four years,” offering travel to all seven continents, and a total of 425 ports across 140 countries.

To set sail on the four-year trip, passengers will need to sign up for a yearslong program called “Escape from Reality” and the three-year option known as “Everywhere but Home.”

The most expensive option will run customers more than $250,000 and the lowest option just under $160,000.

Despite the offer to disillusioned voters, the company maintains that the cruise is open to all political beliefs, and particularly wants Americans looking for a different retirement option to hop aboard.

Other companies have made similar offers of multi-year cruises but not delivered. Last year, one promised three-year cruise never launched after the company behind the trip, Life at Sea Cruises, failed to secure a ship, finally telling customers two weeks before the departure date that the cruise was called off.

Many people reportedly had sold their homes in preparations for the trip and were awaiting the launch from Istanbul, Turkey, at the time of the announcement, leaving many stranded.

Passengers were reportedly told by the company they would have to wait months for a refund.
