THE U-S DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ANNOUNCED ITS GIVING MORE THAN 250-*MILLION* DOLLARS TO SEVERAL HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS AND OTHER AGENCIES TO SECURE GOOD-PAYING JOBS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.
THE FIVE-YEAR GRANTS WERE MADE POSSIBLE BY THE “DISABILITY INNOVATION FUND” PROGRAM AND WERE GIVEN TO 27 RECIPIENTS.
THE U-S SECRETARY OF EDUCATION, MIGUEL CARDONA SAID THIS ABOUT THE ANNOUNCEMENT … “IN OUR 21ST CENTURY ECONOMY, WE MUST PROVIDE MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THESE INDIVIDUALS TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS FOR COMPETITIVE INTEGRATED EMPLOYMENT, INDEPENDENCE AND ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY.”
