HURRICANE MILTON ISN’T JUST DISRUPTING PLANS ON EARTH BUT IN SPACE AS WELL.
FOUR ASTRONAUTS WILL HAVE TO WAIT A FEW DAYS LONGER THAN EXPECTED TO RETURN HOME BECAUSE OF THE HURRICANE.
NASA AND SPACEX ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED DEPARTURE FOR THE CREW-8 MISSION FROM THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION MONDAY MORNING.
BUT MILTON IS ON A DIRECT PATH FOR FLORIDA’S COAST, WHERE THE CREW PLANNED ON SPLASHING DOWN.
NOW, THE ASTRONAUTS WON’T DEPART UNTIL AT LEAST SUNDAY.
IN THE MEANTIME, CREW MEMBER MATTHEW DOMINICK IS POSTING SOME AMAZING VIDEOS OF THE VIEW OF MILTON FROM SPACE.
THIS IS A TIMELAPSE VIDEO HE POSTED TUESDAY.
DOMINICK PROMISED MORE PICS AND VIDEOS OUTSIDE THE DRAGON ENDEAVOUR’S WINDOW AS THEY WAIT TO UNDOCK AND RETURN HOME.
NASA AND SPACEX SAID THEY’RE CONTINUING TO MONITOR CONDITIONS TO SEE WHEN A SAFE RETURN IS POSSIBLE AND WILL PROVIDE AN UPDATE FRIDAY.
CREW-8’S DEPARTURE PLANS WENT INTO EFFECT WITH THE ARRIVAL OF SPACEX’S CREW-9 MISSION LATE LAST MONTH, WHICH WAS DELAYED TWO DAYS BECAUSE OF HURRICANE HELENE.
