New York Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Carolyn Maloney were praised and criticized following their Met Gala attendance.
According to Fox Business, both House Financial Services Committee members missed part of a meeting marking up the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation package to attend the event..
At the gala, the progressive politicians wore dresses amplifying their political messages. Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s dress spelled out “Tax The Rich”.
Rep. Maloney’s gown included “Equal Rights for Women”.
Across the country, women’s rights are under attack.
I have long used fashion as a force 4 change. As the Met Costume Institute reopens w/ their inaugural exhibit celebrating American designers, I am calling 4 the certification of the ERA so women can be equal once and for all. pic.twitter.com/ONbAJq4rOK
