A new AP-NORC poll shows about 4 in 10 people (42%) are “extremely” or “very” concerned about potential attempts to violently overturn the 2024 election results. About the same amount of people (38%) are worried about legal efforts to do so.
One in three (33%) voters say they’re “extremely” or “very” concerned about attempts by local or state election officials to stop the results from being finalized.
More than three-quarters (77%) of voters have faith Vice President Kamala Harris will accept the results of the election, according to the poll. Only about a third (33%) said the same about former President Donald Trump.

IN ABOUT ONE WEEK – WE’LL KNOW WHO OUR NEXT PRESIDENT IS… RIGHT?
THAT USED TO BE A PRETTY STRAIGHT FORWARD ANSWER BEFORE THE 20-20 ELECTION – WHEN NOW-PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN BEAT OUT THEN-PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP FOR THE JOB… LEADING TO RIOTS AT THE UNITED STATES CAPITOL AND FALSE CLAIMS THE ELECTION WAS STOLEN.
MANY AMERICANS ARE CONCERNED HISTORY WILL REPEAT ITSELF THIS ELECTION CYCLE.
A NEW A-P NORC POLL SHOWS ABOUT 4 IN 10 (42%) PEOPLE ARE “EXTREMELY” OR “VERY” CONCERNED ABOUT POTENTIAL ATTEMPTS TO VIOLENTLY OVERTURN THE 20-24 ELECTION RESULTS…
AND ABOUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF PEOPLE (38%) ARE WORRIED ABOUT *LEGAL* EFFORTS TO DO SO.
AND 1 IN 3 (33%) VOTERS SAY THEY’RE “EXTREMELY” OR “VERY” CONCERNED ABOUT ATTEMPTS BY LOCAL OR STATE ELECTION OFFICIALS TO STOP THE RESULTS FROM BEING FINALIZED.
AND WHEN IT COMES TO HOW THE CANDIDATES WILL REACT TO THE RESULTS… MORE VOTERS HAVE FAITH VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS WILL ACCEPT THEM – WHETHER SHE WINS OR NOT – THAN FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP WILL.
WITH MORE THAN THREE-QUARTERS (77%) SAYING THEY BELIEVE HARRIS WILL ACCEPT THE RESULTS COMPARED TO A THIRD (33%) PERCENT SAYING THE SAME ABOUT TRUMP.
