VP Harris reacts to NYT column suggesting Biden-Cheney 2024 ticket

Full story

Vice President Kamala Harris dismissed a question on whether President Joe Biden would replace her as his running mate in 2024, possibly with Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY). The interview with the Today show’s Craig Melvin on Thursday marked the latest reaction to a New York Times column. Harris said she had not heard the rumors.

“No, I did not,” Harris responded. “And I really could care less about the high-class gossip on these issues.”

The opinion piece by Thomas Friedman elicited a flurry of attention on social media after he suggested President Biden could dump Vice President Harris for an anti-Trump Republican. Friedman used the example of several opposition groups coming together to form a unity government in Israel, which he likened to the US in terms of going from “Off Broadway to Broadway.”
