Border Patrol agents fired upon at Texas border

U.S. Border Patrol agents were involved in a shootout with suspected Mexican cartel members near the U.S.-Mexico border on Monday, Jan. 27. Footage shows cartel members fleeing to Fronton Island after the gunfight with U.S. agents.
The shootout occurred one week after President Donald Trump intensified border security measures. The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to assist U.S. Border Patrol agents after receiving gunfire from cartel members in Mexico. A recent New York Times poll shows that around 55% of respondents strongly or somewhat support the deportation plans, while differing on implementation.
