Coverage of Trump, Harris in presidential race ‘most lopsided in history,’ 85% negative for Trump: MRC report

Broadcast evening news coverage of the 2024 presidential race is the most lopsided in history according to the Media Research Center’s analysis. Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris received 78% positive coverage, while former Republican President Donald Trump faced 85% negative coverage since July, according to the study.

The analysis shows that Trump’s coverage is more negative than in 2020, where he experienced 92% negative coverage versus Joe Biden’s 66% positive.

MRC also alleged that ABC, CBS and NBC have spent most of the more than 200 minutes of airtime covering Trump controversies while glossing over controversies related to Harris.
