FBI, DHS warn of possible ‘follow-on or retaliatory’ attacks in wake of Trump assassination attempt

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the FBI released a warning to law enforcement across the United States. The bulletin warned officials that violent extremists may attempt “follow-on or retaliatory” attacks at rallies or other types of events related to the 2024 presidential election in the coming months.

This comes after former President Donald Trump was shot at at one of his rallies in Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13.

Secret Service protection for the former president as well as President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris has been increased.
