FBI shuttered DEI office last month

The FBI closed its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion office last month following President-elect Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory. Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., criticized the FBI for prioritizing diversity over national security, claiming it endangered public safety.
Trump’s administration plans to remove the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion agenda from the federal government. The FBI’s decision to close the office comes amid scrutiny over its focus on social justice initiatives rather than its core mission. However, according to the Washington Examiner, the FBI did not give a reason for closing down its DEI office, which has been around since 2012.
