Israel has addressed many of Biden’s concerns over widescale Rafah operation, US official says

A senior Biden administration official said on Tuesday, May 21, that Israel has addressed many of President Joe Biden’s concerns over its long-simmering plan to carry out a widescale military operation in the southern Gaza city of Rafah aimed at rooting out Hamas.

The Biden administration recently planned to send $1 billion in new weapons to Israel, notifying Congress committees of the planned deal on Tuesday, May 14. Previously the administration paused a shipment of bombs to Israel due to concerns about a major operation in the Gaza border city of Rafah.
