New York nursing home operator accused of neglect settles with state for $45M

The operators of four nursing homes in New York will pay $45 million to settle claims of resident neglect, as announced by Attorney General Letitia James. Centers will allocate $35 million for improving resident care and staffing under the settlement.

Centers stated it was pleased to resolve the litigation, which dismisses all allegations of wrongdoing against them.

Court-appointed monitors, who have already been installed at all four nursing homes, will remain. They’ve previously reported improvements at the nursing homes.
