A U.S. Secret Service agent assigned to Vice President Kamala Harris’ detail was removed for “distressing” behavior at Joint Base Andrews on April 22, 2024. The incident took place before the vice president’s visit to Wisconsin. Medical personnel were called while the agent was removed, handcuffed and arrested by fellow officers. Reports said the agent after pushed a superior and behaved incoherently.

Harris was still at the Naval Observatory, the official residence of the vice president, when the incident happened. Officials said her travel plans were not disrupted by the arrest.
