Sinema reflects on criticism in exit interview: ‘Don’t give a s‑‑‑’

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, I-Ariz., reflected on the criticism she has faced during her political career, telling Semafor that she doesn’t “ give a s‑‑‑.” In the interview, Sinema said people often call her an “enigma,” but that she thinks she’s “highly predictable.” Sinema, as well as another Democrat-turned-Independent, West Virginia’s Joe Manchin, became a thorn in the side of others in her party after she began breaking with party lines on issues such as ending the filibuster and raising the corporate tax rate.
Sinema acknowledged the difficult atmosphere she navigated in her exit interview and emphasized her commitment to her own beliefs despite the pushback, while sharing insights from her experiences in the political landscape.
