Trump: Republicans who back spending bill without debt increase should face primary

President-elect Donald Trump said he is “totally against” the massive “pork”-filled spending bill that House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., proposed on Tuesday, Dec. 17, and said that any Republican who votes in favor of it should face a primary challenger in the next election. Trump took to Truth Social, where he wrote, “Any Republican that would be so stupid as to do this should, and will, be Primaried. Everything should be done, and fully negotiated, prior to my taking Office on January 20th, 2025. Now, Speaker Johnson is reportedly considering dropping the current spending bill for a “clean [continuing resolution]” bill.
