Walz tramps through tall grass but bags no birds as pheasant hunting season opens

Minnesota Gov, Tim Walz, D, hunted for three hours on opening day of the state’s pheasant hunting season but did not shoot any birds. Walz and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan. D, both failed to bag pheasants near Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, about 90 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
The Minnesota Governor’s Pheasant Hunting Opener is a tradition established in 2011, inspired by fishing and deer season celebrations. The outing was seen as a callback for Walz to voters over his rural roots. It was mocked by the Trump campaign, which falsely alleged that no guns were seen in video of the event.
