Wyoming’s only full-service clinic stops providing abortions after new regulations signed

Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon signed a law requiring clinics like Wellspring Health Access to be licensed as ambulatory surgical centers, potentially leading to the closure of the state’s only provider of in-clinic abortions. Julie Burkhart, the clinic’s founder, stated the law aims to force the clinic out of business, increasing healthcare costs and limiting options.

Abortion remains legal in Wyoming, with ongoing court challenges against the law being pursued. The clinic plans to continue operations while challenging the law in court, though it will not provide abortions during this time.
