Okay, Matt Gaetz, U.S. congressman out of Florida, has basically admitted that he did in fact commit a crime as it relates to human trafficking of an underage girl. Let me explain how he has made a de facto admission.
Remember the rumors that came up months ago that Matt Gates was seeking a pardon? Well, many people thought he was seeking a pardon for his actions connected to January 6, the terrorist attack. Now we know conclusively that he sought a pardon in order to free him from the entanglement of the investigation that is currently ongoing.
The investigation that says Matt Gaetz trafficked an underage girl across state lines. Matt Gaetz learned about this investigation during the Trump Administration and tried to lobby and advocate those connected to Trump, but Trump to give him a preemptive or what we call, a blanket pardon.
Remember what a pardon is. The word pardon itself indicates guilt. We’re not talking about exoneration. We’re not talking about overturning an injustice. We’re talking about a pardon. That’s what Matt Gaetz sought. A pardon means forgiveness. It means forgiveness of a crime. It does not mean you didn’t do it, it means the exact opposite. A pardon means you did do it, but you have now sought and obtained forgiveness of that particular crime.
Matt Gaetz is also, ironically enough, on the Judiciary Committee. Now, if we don’t realize how insane this is, we have already gone just off the cliff as a nation. Matt Gaetz serves on the Judiciary Committee. That committee oversees – what – the Department of Justice. They have oversight of the Department of Justice. The Department of Justice is investigating congressman Matt Gaetz, who sits on the committee that oversees them.
Why has Matt Gaetz not resigned from those committee posts? Why is it that Republican leadership, they have not forced Matt Gaetz to leave? Or they could simply not allow him to remain on those committees. That has not happened.
And let me say this to the mainstream Democrats. Why have you all not made an actual real coordinated effort to get Matt Gaetz off of these committees, at least while he’s under investigation for human sex trafficking? And here’s another piece of irony here. Because a spokesperson said that Matt Gaetz stands behind what Donald Trump says. Let me read this.
A spokesperson said and I quote, “Congressman Matt Gaetz discussed pardons for many other people publicly and privately at the end of President Donald Trump’s first term. As for himself, President Trump addressed this malicious rumor more than a year ago stating, “Congressman Matt Gaetz has never asked me for a pardon.” Representative Gaetz continues to stand by President Trump’s statement.
That’s not the question, Matt. The question has nothing to do with, “Did you ask Trump directly?” Did you ask for it, period? Did you ask others for it. Did you tell people to talk to Trump about it? They’re not answering that question.
The spokesperson did not respond to questions about whether Gaetz denied the conversations about pardons with McEntee and Meadows. He has not been on record saying that did not happen. The GOP congressman voted against…Matt Gaetz voted against reauthorizing the sex trafficking law in July. Okay. In addition to that, let’s not forget that Donald Trump also has called for the death of all human traffickers. Not my words, Donald Trump’s words. There you have it.
