There’s new evidence coming to light about Nicholas Roske. The 26-year-old California man was arrested for allegedly trying to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Recent court filings show in the weeks leading up to his arrest, Roske performed internet searches for things like: quietest semi auto rifle, assassin skills, most effective place to stab someone, Supreme Court, and how to be stealthy.

Roske is charged with attempting to murder a justice of the United States. He was arrested in June after taking a taxi to Kavanaugh’s neighborhood with the alleged intent to kill the conservative justice.

He was arrested carrying a gun and extra ammo, a knife, pepper spray, zip ties, a screwdriver and other gear.

According to the FBI, Roske also made several online posts before his arrest. Roske was reportedly outraged about the overturning of Roe v. Wade. The decision by the court to send the question of abortion rights back to states sparked protests across the country, including in the neighborhoods of several Supreme Court justices.

Court documents show Roske posted he wanted to “remove some people from the Supreme Court” and “was shooting for three.”

Aside from Brett Kavanaugh, it is unclear which other Supreme Court justices Roske might have been targeting.

According to his online posts, Roske thought he could alter the trajectory of the Supreme Court for decades by killing conservative justices so liberal judges could take their place.

A tentative trial date for Roske is set for next month. He has pled not guilty.
