Full Story

The 2025 Super Bowl will likely set records for viewership, and ad revenue has already reached new heights. Now, gambling on the big game is expected to set a record as well.

In 2018, the Supreme Court struck down a nationwide ban on sports betting. Since that decision, 38 states legalized some kind of gambling on sports. The Super Bowl is the biggest single betting day of the year in Las Vegas and now, for many Americans online.

According to an annual report from the American Gaming Association more than $1.3 billion will be wagered on the Super Bowl this year.

What are some of the possible bets?

There are hundreds of betting options available, including some unusual “prop” bets short for propositions. For instance, will Travis Kelce propose to Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl? A $100 bet on “yes” will return $800.

Another possible bet: how many songs will Kendrick Lamar sing during his halftime show, over 10.5 or under?

How about betting on how long will it take New Orleans native Jon Batiste to sing the national anthem? 2 minutes, 5 seconds is the over or under mark.

There is the always challenging 50/50 wager on the opening coin flip. Will it be heads or tails?

A bet more popular every year involves the Gatorade bath. What color Gatorade will be poured on the winning coach? Purple is the favorite at the moment because the Chiefs have poured that color on Andy Reid the past two Super Bowl wins.

More traditionally, there are all the player prop bets. Who will throw for ‘x’ amount of yards? How many catches will each receiver have? Rushing yards? Penalty flags? Who will score the first touchdown? and on and on.

The bet that will get the most “action”, as they say in Vegas, is naturally, “Who will win the 2025 Super Bowl?”

Since the matchup was set two weeks ago, the Kansas City Chiefs have been slight favorites. The total points scored has been hovering between 48 and 49.

In the last 50 years, six of the greatest teams in history have been in position to win three straight Super Bowls, but none of those teams were able to do it. Many people are asking whether the Chiefs be the first in history to do it. Millions of fans are willing to bet on it, one way or the other.

“Meanwhile, I saw that Americans are expected to legally bet well over a billion dollars on Super Bowl weekend… I don’t like to bet but let’s just say if Taylor Swift and Donna Kelce ‘side hug’ more than 6 times, you might not see me on Monday, helloooo”
That’s a joke but the money wagered on this game is not over 1 billion as Jimmy Fallon said. There are hundreds of betting options available, “prop” bets short for propositions.

For instance, will Travis Kelce propose to Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl. You’ll have an $800 win on your $100 bet if he does!
Other strange wagers you can place, how many songs will Kendrick Lamar sing at halftime.. Over 10.5 or under.

Naturally there are all the player prop bets, who will throw for x amount of yards, how many catches will each receiver have, rushing yards, penalty flags, who will score the first touchdown and on and on.

But the most important bet, the one that will get the most “action” as they say in Vegas. Who will win Super Bowl 59? Since the matchup was set two weeks ago the Kansas City Chiefs have been slight favorites. And the total points scored has been hovering around 48 or 49 most of that time as well.

Who am I betting on? Well, over the last 50 years, six of the greatest teams in history have been in position to win three straight Super Bowls, none were able to do it.
I say it finally happens on Sunday. Chiefs win their third straight.
By the way, I’ve changed that pick 4 times in the last hour, good luck everyone!
