Canada will preside over the G7 in 2025, leading seven advanced economies amid global political instability. Global Affairs Canada has so far stated that the country aims to advance common priorities like fighting climate change and managing technology as its goal for 2025.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has pledged to support research on artificial intelligence and champion peace for Ukraine. If Trudeau chairs the G7 summit in June, he will be the longest-serving among his peers. Canada last hosted the G7 in 2018, in Quebec.
