Isolated Chicago communities secure money for a coveted transit project before Trump takes office

Isolated Chicago communities have secured funding for a transit project before Trump takes office. Community leaders have worked tirelessly to obtain the funding needed for the project.

Last week, the Biden administration notified Congress it would commit $1.9 billion toward a nearly $5.7 billion project. The project would add four new L stations on Chicago’s south side.

Residents believe that the transit project will enhance their quality of life.

The funding is a significant investment in local infrastructure and has support from various community groups.
