Prosecutors seek indefinite delay in Trump assassination attempt trial

Federal prosecutors are seeking an indefinite delay in the trial of Ryan Routh, charged with attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump in West Palm Beach. Prosecutors claim a large amount of evidence has emerged, making the case “complex,” and requested Florida District Judge Aileen Cannon’s designation of it as such.
The government also asked for delays in motion deadlines, calendar calls, and the trial date to allow adequate time for review of evidence. Hundreds of witnesses are already reported to have been interviewed.
