Rand Paul’s annual ‘Festivus’ report targets over $1 trillion in federal spending as wasteful

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., released the 2024 Festivus Waste Report, highlighting over $1 trillion in government spending by the Biden-Harris administration on what he calls “government waste.” The report mentions a $10,000 grant for “Beards on Ice,” an ice skating drag show, and a $12 million pickleball complex in Las Vegas.
The report also shows that the National Institutes of Health spent over $1.5 million on what it calls “medieval-type experiments” on kittens, and the Department of Defense reportedly spent nearly $11 million on electroshock therapy experiments. Rand Paul criticizes Congress for funding such projects while taxpayers deal with high prices and interest rates.
