Secret Service, DHS sued over first Trump assassination attempt

A conservative legal watchdog group is suing the U.S. Secret Service and Department of Homeland Security to explain how Thomas Crooks narrowly missed killing former President Donald Trump. America First Legal claims that both agencies illegally concealed records about the assassination attempt on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania. AFL requested information related to staffing shortages and communications involving Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and DHS officials. The organization said it requested several documents thorough open records laws, but never heard back on its requests.
