Teachers union chief: Vance ‘must really be disconnected from life’

Republican Vice Presidential Nominee JD Vance criticized teachers without biological children in a resurfaced 2021 audio, claiming they attempt to “brainwash” children. Vance specifically targeted Randi Weingarten, saying, “If she wants to brainwash… She should have some of her own.”
Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers, called Vance’s comments “gross” and highlighted the role of nuns in education. She said it was a “bizarre thing for him to double down on,” speaking in the midst of a new school year.
